Explanation:
The desired equipment was competitively bid by Sourcewell pursuant to RFP 060920 - Class 4-8 Chassis with Related Equipment, Accessories, and Services and the current term of the contract is from July 30, 2020 through August 1, 2024, for Class 4-8 Chassis with Related Equipment, Accessories, and Services. Sourcewell subsequently entered into an agreement with The Peterbilt Store South Florida LLC, d/b/a The Peterbilt Store for this type of equipment.
On July 30, 2020, Sourcewell awarded the bid to The Peterbilt Store South Florida LLC, d/b/a The Peterbilt Store and they have agreed to extend to the City of Hollywood the same pricing under the terms and conditions set forth in the Sourcewell Bid and contract.
The Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining and keeping the beaches and City streets clean, eliminating seaweed, removing debris, setting up and breaking down various events, clearing City streets and property, and responding to emergency situations such as hurricanes and other natural disasters. Public Works is in need of a Peterbilt Cab and Chassis Dump Truck to replace the outdated equipment.
The Director of Public Works and the Director of the Office of Procurement and Contract Compliance recommend that the City Commission authorize the appropriate City officials to issue a purchase order to The Peterbilt Store South Florida LLC d/b/a The Peterbilt Store, for the purchase of a 2024-548 Peterbilt Cab and Chassis Dump Truck for a one-time purchase in an amount not to exceed $174,229.00.
Fiscal Impact:
Funding for this purchase is available in the FY 2023 Operating Budget in account number 117.519901.51900.564530.001695.000.000.
