Explanation:
The 2019 General Obligation Bond approved a new art education building addition to the existing Hollywood Art and Culture Center (“ACC”) building owned by the City.
The Broward County Cultural Division Cultural and Artistic Facilities Capital Support grant awards funds to provide capital project assistance and support to recipients for the acquisition, development, construction, renovation, expansion, or improvement of new or existing cultural or artistic facilities located in Broward County.
The Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts (“PRCA”) would like to apply for this grant and accept funding if awarded to fund these improvements.
Fiscal Impact:
If approved, grant funding in the amount of $500,000.00 will be appropriated in the FY 2023 Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Plan for improvements to the Hollywood Art & Cultural Center Education Expansion projects as detailed in Exhibit 1. This grant requires a 2 to 1 match, or $1,000,000.00. Grant match funding is available in account number 333.309901.57200.563010.001214.000.000.
