Explanation:
The desired equipment was competitively bid by the Florida Sheriff’s Association pursuant to FSA22-VEH20.0 - Heavy Trucks and Buses and the current term of the contract is from October 1, 2022, through September 30, 2023, for heavy trucks and buses. The Florida Sheriff’s Association subsequently entered into an agreement with The Peterbilt Store South Florida LLC d/b/a The Peterbilt Store for this type of equipment.
On October 1, 2022, the Florida Sheriff’s Association awarded the bid to The Peterbilt Store South Florida LLC d/b/a The Peterbilt Store and they have agreed to extend to the City of Hollywood the same pricing under the terms and conditions set forth in the Florida Sheriff’s Association Bid and contract.
The Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining and keeping the beach clean, garbage pickup, debris removal, various events clean up, clearing City streets and property, as well as in emergency situations such as hurricanes. The City is in need of a Peterbilt Cab and Chassis with Heil PF-1000-16 Yard Rear Loader to replace the outdated equipment which is past its useful life.
The Director of Public Works and the Director of the Office of Procurement and Contract Compliance recommend that the City Commission authorize the appropriate City officials to issue a purchase order to The Peterbilt Store South Florida LLC d/b/a The Peterbilt Store, for the purchase of a 2024-537 Peterbilt Cab and Chassis with Heil PF-1000-16 Yard Rear Loader for a one-time purchase in an amount up to $237,645.00.
Fiscal Impact:
Funding for this purchase requires amending the approved FY 2023 Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Program as detailed in Exhibit 1, subject to approval of this resolution.
