Explanation:
On August 26, 2015, through Resolution R-2015-255, the City Commission authorized design fees for Saltz Michelson Architects, Inc. in the amount of $246,784.00.
The revised construction contract completion date for the project was April 9, 2018, however the contractor, West Construction, Inc., substantially completed the project in August 14, 2019 and is currently in litigation with the City over the enforcement of Liquidated Damages provisions.
As the construction continued past the original contract period, additional services fees were requested by the Architect and negotiated for services during the extended construction time. As allowed by City Code staff approved ATP No. 6 and ATP No. 7; the City Commission approved ATP No.8; staff approved ATP No. 9 and ATP No. 10, the City Commission approved ATP No. 11, and staff approved ATP No. 12.

ATP No. 13 for additional services in the amount of $25,731.51 will bring the total contract increase to $156,264.77. As per Section 38.48(B) (2) (a) of the City of Hollywood Code of Ordinances, approval of this ATP requires City Commission approval. The services for ATP No. 13 includes varied requests for additional services on an hourly as needed basis as allowed by the contract, required to complete and certify the project before securing permit certification with service dates from April 2019 to May 2020.
Fiscal Impact:
Funding for this project was included in the adopted FY 2021 Capital Improvement Plan, and is available in account number 334.219901.52200.563010.000106.000.000.
