Explanation:
The Public Works Departments requires a qualified firm to design, install, service, remove and store holiday decorations for the Community Redevelopment Agency (“CRA”) Beach and Downtown Districts. Originally, this was a Community Redevelopment Agency initiative that is now being transferred over to the Public Works Department to administer.
With this signed agreement, Brandano Displays, Inc. would create a festive environment, showcasing the commercial districts and corridors and act as a backdrop for photo ops, selfies, and video productions. Over the years, the holiday décor has created an environment for community members and visitors alike, to view and enjoy.
The City, through its Procurement Division, published a Request for Proposals for holiday decoration services and this vendor submitted its proposal. On September 7, 2022, the CRA Board passed and adopted Resolution No. R-CRA-2022-40 authorizing a new one-year agreement with two one-year options to renew the Vendor for Holiday Decoration Services.
The Interim Director of Public Works and the Assistant Director of Financial Services for Procurement recommend that the City Commission authorize the appropriate City officials to execute an agreement with Brandano Displays, Inc. to design, install, service, remove and store holiday decorations for the Community Redevelopment Agency (“CRA”) Beach and Downtown Districts for a period of one-year with the right to renew for an additional two one-year periods subject to vendor acceptance, satisfactory performance and the determination that renewal will be in the best interest of the City, for an estimated annual expenditure of $150,000.00.
Fiscal Impact:
There is a companion resolution (budget amendment) that will allocate funding in account number 001.500301.51900.546350.000000.000.000 for the execution of an agreement with Brandano Displays, Inc. for holiday decorations.
