Explanation:
The desired equipment was competitively bid by Sourcewell pursuant to RFP#041521 - Plastic Refuse and Recycling Containers with Related Technology Solutions and the current term of the contract is from June 30, 2021 through May 28, 2025, for garbage and recycling carts. Sourcewell subsequently entered into an agreement with Rehrig Pacific Company for this type of equipment.
On June 30, 2021, Sourcewell awarded the bid to Rehrig Pacific Company and they have agreed to extend to the City of Hollywood the same pricing under the terms and conditions set forth in the Sourcewell bid and contract #041521 - REH.
The City has taken on the responsibility of replacing the damaged and missing carts and have made the Department of Public Works responsible for the purchase and distributing the new carts.
The Director of Public Works and the Chief Procurement Officer recommend that the City Commission authorize the appropriate City officials to execute a blanket purchase agreement with Rehrig Pacific Company for the purchase of garbage and recycling carts throughout the year in an amount not to exceed $250,000.00.
Fiscal Impact:
A portion of the funding for this purchase is available in the Fiscal Year 2025 Operating Budget in account number 445.520101.53400.552140.000000.000.000 and the remainder will be made available as detailed in Exhibit 1, subject to approval of this resolution.
