Explanation:

The Department of Fire Rescue and Beach Safety's emergency response services depend on reliable frontline equipment vital for daily operations and emergency preparedness. Acquiring a new rescue apparatus is essential to replace an aging unit and to maintain operational reliability, firefighter safety, and adherence to relevant safety and performance standards.

 

The Department intends to procure this apparatus through Ten-8 Fire & Safety, LLC, d/b/a/ Ten-8 Fire Equipment, Inc. (“Ten-8”) utilizing a competitively solicited cooperative purchasing agreement awarded by the Florida Sheriffs Association. This cooperative contract satisfies procurement requirements by providing pre-negotiated pricing, standardized terms, and verified vendor qualifications, ensuring the City receives best value while maintaining compliance with procurement regulations. Ten-8 has demonstrated the ability to provide equipment that meets the Department’s operational specifications, delivery timelines, and service support expectations. Utilizing this cooperative agreement allows the Department to efficiently secure the required apparatus while avoiding delays associated with conducting an independent solicitation

 

 

Fiscal Impact:

Funding for this Purchase Order was included in the FY 2026 Capital Improvement Plan and is available in account number 335.219901.52200.564520.001263.000.000.
