Explanation:
On September 20, 2018, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2018-287, authorizing the appropriate City officials to execute the Transportation System Surtax Interlocal Agreement with Broward County and the Broward County Metropolitan Planning Organization setting forth conditions for municipal project funding and supporting the 2018 Transportation Surtax ballot measure. The ballot measure was approved by the voters of Broward County on November 6, 2018.
On April 1, 2020, Broward County finalized Cycle 1 evaluation criteria and opened an application portal for municipal rehabilitation and maintenance projects.
The Department of Development Services, Engineering, Transportation and Mobility Division has identified the following rehabilitation and maintenance projects that improve City streets, congestion, sidewalks, and neighborhood flooding:
Project 1)
• North Park Road between Sheridan Street and Oak Drive
• Raleigh Street between North Park Road and North 38th Avenue
• Sarazen Drive between North 35th Street and North 46th Avenue
• North 26th Avenue between Taft Street and Sheridan Street
• West Park Road between North Park Road and North 40th Avenue
Project 2)
• North 58th Avenue between Johnson Street and Sheridan Street
Project 3)
• Liberty Street between North Park Road and North 31st Street
These projects primarily consist of milling and resurfacing, sidewalk repairs, and additional ADA access points on cross-streets. Some project areas will also receive additional cross walks, drainage improvements, and minor modifications to reduce congestion and improve safety.

One of the items required to be included in the funding application packages is a Resolution of Support from the City Commission.
Fiscal Impact:
Funding for any County-approved projects would come from the Surtax Fund. Costs related to the administration and management of the projects will be the responsibility of the City.
