Explanation:
On March 3, 2021 the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2021-058, authorizing appropriate officials to submit a pre-application grant packet for Community Development Block Grant-Coronavirus Funds from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (“DEO”) in the amount of $760,335.00.
On June 16, 2021, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution R-2021-154, approving and authorizing the appropriate officials to submit a final application grant packet for Community Development Block Grant-Coronavirus Funds from the DEO in the amount of $760,335.00.
Staff submitted grant applications for:
1. Small Business Asst. $250,000.00
2. HVAC Replacement Martin Luther King (MLK) $340,000.00
3. Laptops for the provision of Public Services
MLK, Washington Park, Kay Gaither, Driftwood $ 80,000.00
4. Wiring and Networking for Community Centers
MLK, Washington Park, Kay Gaither, Driftwood $ 70,000.00
5. General Admin. for Business Assistance $ 20,335.00
Total CDBG-CV2 Investment $760,335.00
Staff desires to reallocate funds to other eligible activities, as follows:
1. Public Services (Homeless Services) $590,000.00
2. Laptops for the provision of Public Services
MLK, Washington Park, Kay Gaither, Driftwood $ 80,000.00
3. Wiring and Networking for Community Centers
MLK, Washington Park, Kay Gaither, Driftwood $ 70,000.00
4. General Administration $ 20,335.00
Total CDBG-CV2 Investment $760,335.00
Fiscal Impact:
This item seeks approval for the reallocation of CDBG-CV2 funds and authorizes appropriate City officials to execute an agreement and subsequent modifications with the DEO as set forth and allocated in the Resolution. Funding will be made available in the Fiscal Year 2023 Operating Budget as detailed in Exhibit 1, subject to approved of this resolution.
