Explanation:

The 56th Avenue Privacy Wall Replacement Project will replace the existing privacy wall along North 56th Avenue to improve neighborhood infrastructure, enhance aesthetics, and provide a durable long-term barrier for adjacent residents.

On April 16, 2025, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. R-2025-114, approving and authorizing an Authorization to Proceed with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. for architectural and engineering design services for the project.

The project scope generally consists of demolition and removal of the existing privacy walls; construction of a new precast concrete privacy wall; installation of foundations and wall panels; landscaping improvements; site restoration; and all related work necessary to complete the project.

The construction project was competitively solicited through the Invitation for Bid No. IFB-399-26-GJ, Privacy Wall Replacement - N. 56th Avenue. On June 2, 2026, the City received four bid responses:

1.                     MBR Construction, Inc. ......................................... $470,240.00

2.                     Anzco Inc. ............................................................. $478,950.00

3.                     Garp Construction Group, Inc. ............................ $494,530.07

4.                     MTD Painting and Construction Corp ................... $606,900.00

The Department of Design and Construction Management (“DCM”), the Office of Procurement and Performance Management, and Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc, reviewed and evaluated the submitted bids and determined that MBR Construction, Inc. submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid.

The Notice of Intent to Award for IFB-399-26-GJ to MBR Construction, Inc, was posted on the City of Hollywood Sunshine Board on June 17, 2026, and no bid protests were received.

The Director of DCM recommends that the City Commission approve and authorize the execution of a construction contract with MBR in an amount up to $470,240.00; and
