Explanation:
In response to changing market conditions, the Department of Development Services coordinates a contract for the retention of multiple vendors to provide assistance with inspection and plan review services for several disciplines (Building, Public Utilities, Zoning and Engineering) that are part of the permitting process. This contract is only used to supplement staff based on the influx of permits.
The desired services were competitively bid by the City of Fort Lauderdale through Invitation to Bid Event 360-1 on October 9, 2024, and awarded to Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc. and C.A.P. Government, Inc. under Contract number 360-1. The contract period is a 3-year term, from August 27, 2025, to May 15, 2028, with an option to renew the contract for a 2-year period.
The not to exceed amount for each fiscal year is $1,500,000.00 with the breakdown within departments for each fiscal year as below:
• Public Utilities: $400,000.00
• Planning and Zoning: $200,000.00
• Engineering: $50,000.00
• Building: $850,000.00
Fiscal Impact:
A portion of the funding for this contract is available in the FY 2025 Operating Budget in account numbers 114.140301.52400.531170.000000.000.000, 442.400401.53600.531170.000000.000.000, 001.140401.51500.531170.000000.000.000, 001.140202.51500.531300.000000.000.000 and will be budgeted in subsequent fiscal years’ operating budgets subject to approval and adoption by the City Commission.
