Explanation:

The Department of Public Utilities (“Department”) requires engineering support services on an as-needed basis to pursue grant funding from various agencies, to continue meeting regulatory, compliance, legislative, and contractual needs.  Some of the services needed can be pre-defined, however, the need for previously unanticipated services may arise.

The following and other similar tasks are anticipated to be needed:

Identify and draft prospective grant applications,

Regulatory compliance and permit application assistance for water, wastewater, stormwater, and reuse water systems,

Engineering support for projects designed and administrated by Department in-house staff,

Conceptual planning for water, sewer, stormwater, reuse systems, and matters of emerging interest.

On September 6, 2023, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2023-277, which authorized the execution of continuing professional consulting engineering services contracts with eight firms for water, sewer, reuse, and stormwater infrastructure projects, one of the firms being Tetra Tech, Inc. (“TTH”).

The Department requested a proposal from TTH to provide the aforementioned services for infrastructure projects on an as-needed basis and they submitted a proposal in an amount up to $200,000.00.

This agenda item seeks the City Commission’s approval and authorization to execute the attached Authorization to Proceed for Work Order No. TTH 24-03 with TTH in an amount up to $200,000.00 on an as-needed basis.
