Explanation:

The Hollywood Art and Cultural Center Inc. (“HACC”) entered a 49-year lease with the City for use of the City owned building.

The HACC provides cultural services to the public through its visual, performing arts and educational programs including summer art camps at the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center (“HCPAC”).

The HACC is the only non-profit Arts and Cultural Institution in Southern Broward County and currently 1 of 14 approved to work with Broward County Schools.

Through fund raising events, the HACC raises over 1 million dollars annually for the programing and operation of the HACC and HCPAC.

The City passed and adopted Resolution R-2021-297, which authorized the City and HACC to enter into a one-year agreement to continue to plan and coordinate performing arts programs at the HCPAC in the amount of $70,000.00.

The Director of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts recommends that the City Commission approve an agreement with HACC to continue with the performing arts programs at the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center.

Fiscal Impact:

Funding for this agreement is available in the FY2023 Operating Budget in account number 001.300601.57200.531170.000000.000.000.
