Explanation:
The Department of Public Works has identified a need to replace the roof above the Washington Park Community Center Building. Specifications and details to replace the roof were prepared by a City consultant and the Notice to Bidders was issued online via BidSync on October 26, 2015. The construction documents and specifications were viewed by twenty-eight (28) vendors and seven (7) vendors downloaded the Project Manual and specifications. The responsive bids are shown on the attached Bid Tabulation Sheet. The administration found the low bid submitted by Precision Roofing Corp., to be responsive and responsible and recommend the award of this Contract in the amount of $98,750.00. The price includes a twenty (20) year NDL (no dollar limit) warranty to be provided by the manufacturer. Precision’s past roofing experience with the City of Hollywood includes the Hollywood Police Building in 2015, and the MS/RO Building at the Water Treatment Plant in 2012. In 2015 Precision Roofing Corp. reroofed the high roof on the Hollywood Police Building. In 2012 Precision Roofing Corp. successfully completed for the City of Hollywood a much larger reroofing job on the MS/RO Building at the Water Treatment Plant.
The funding for the Washington Park Community Center project was approved via Resolution R-2015-345 which rolled over prior year capital funding into the FY2016 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Funding is available in account #’s 34.5100.15452.519.006301 and 34.5114.14452.519.006301. With successful consideration of award, construction is scheduled to start in February 2016 with completion in March 2016.
