Explanation:

In July 2022, pursuant to Resolution No. R-2022-216, the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts (“PRCA”) was awarded funding for the 2022/2023 Children's Services Council ("CSC") Maximizing Out of School Time ("MOST") grant funding Youth After School and Summer Programs.

The MOST grant required the execution of an agreement with CSC, Contract Number 22-2751 for a one-year period and provided three additional renewal periods.

CSC has advised PRCA of the intent to renew the MOST grant for the second renewal period of October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2025 and award the approximate amount of $931,040.00.

PRCA is recommending the second renewal of the three renewal periods.

Fiscal Impact:

Grant funding will be made available in the Fiscal Year 2025 Operating Budget, subject to the approval and adoption by the City Commission.

The estimated value of the City’s in-kind match of five percent is approximately $47,000.00, which is comprised of a portion of the current full time PRCA staff salaries.
