Explanation:

The Department of Public Utilities requires the disposal of screenings and shop waste.

 

On September 13, 2016, Bid Number F-4533-16-RL - Screenings and Shop Waste Disposal was electronically advertised via BidSync in accordance with the City’s Purchasing Ordinance, Section 38.42 (A).

 

Bid number F-4533-16-RL was opened at 3:00 P.M. on October 4, 2016, and resulted in responses from two (2) bidders:

 

                                          A.J. Panzarella, LLC D/B/A Panzarella Waste & Recycling Services                     

                                          Weston, FL

 

                                          Waste Management

                                          Lombard, FL                                                                                                                                                                                             

 

The bid language requested each bidder provide the annual pricing for the disposal of screenings and shop waste.

 

The bid results are as follows:

 

                                          A.J. Panzarella, LLC D/B/A Panzarella Waste & Recycling Services                                                                                    $170,400.40 Annually

                                          

                                          Waste Management                                                                                    

                                          No-Bid                                                                                                                                                                                             

 

A.J. Panzarella, LLC D/B/A Panzarella Waste & Recycling Services has been determined to be the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.

 

Award is subject to the City’s receipt and approval of all insurance certificates required by the City’s Risk Manager, and indemnity to the City.

 

The Director of Public Utilities and the Contract Compliance Officer recommend that the City Commission approve award of the attached Blanket Purchase Order to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, A.J. Panzarella, LLC D/B/A Panzarella Waste & Recycling Services of Weston, Florida.

 

The term of this agreement shall be for an initial two (2) year period.

 

By mutual agreement between the City and the awarded contractor this agreement may be renewed for two (2) additional two (2) year periods.

 

Funding for the attached Blanket Purchase Order has been provided for in the fiscal year 2017 budget in the Department of Public Utilities Account Number 42.4041.00000.536.004360 and will be budgeted in subsequent fiscal years.
