Staff Recommends:  Approval of Attached Resolution.

Explanation:

The State Housing Initiatives Partnership ("SHIP”) Act, Sections 420.907 through 420.9079, Florida Statutes, and Rule 67-37, Florida Administrative Code, require local governments to develop a one- to three-year Local Housing Assistance Plan outlining how allocated funds will be used and requires local governments to annually report on the new and existing housing that benefits from awards made pursuant to the SHIP Act.

The Community Development Division has prepared the attached SHIP Program Final Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2021/2022 and Interim Annual Report for Fiscal Years 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 ("SHIP-AR") for transmittal to the Florida Housing Finance Corporation, as required.

The City Commission finds that it is in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Hollywood to submit the attached SHIP-AR for review and approval by the Florida Housing Finance Corporation in order to satisfy the requirements of the SHIP Act.

The Community Development Division recommends approval the attached final annual SHIP-AR for Florida Fiscal Year 2021/2022 and the interim Annual Report for Florida Fiscal Years 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 and that the appropriate City officials are authorized to execute all documents and certifications required by the Florida Housing Finance Corporation as they relate to the attached SHIP-AR and to take such actions necessary to implement the attached SHIP-AR.

Fiscal Impact:

Approval of this resolution will not fiscally impact the City as this is a request to submit the SHIP-AR for review and approval by the Florida Housing Finance Corporation.
