Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

Explanation:

On June 16, 2023, Senate Bill No. 2500 was approved by the Governor of Florida, which included $4,399,573.00 in appropriations for the Hollywood Boulevard Bifurcation and Extension Project.

The scope of this project includes extension of Hollywood Blvd from 17th Avenue to Young Circle, as well as roadway improvements to Harrison Street and Tyler Street from 17th Avenue to Young Circle and 17th Ave from Harrison Street to Tyler Street.

FDOT requires the City to execute a State Funded Grant Agreement that defines the project scope, responsibilities, terms, and conditions upon which the appropriated funds will be provided and to set forth the way the project will be undertaken and completed.

Fiscal Impact:

Approval of this resolution will not fiscally impact the City as this is a proposal to accept state appropriation in the amount of $4,399,573.00.

The estimated probable design, permitting, and construction costs associated with the project have been estimated to be $13,198,718.00, of which, $4,399,573.00 will be provided via the appropriation of the State Funds, $5,000,000 will be provided by the Developer, and the City and the Developer will pursue Broward County Surtax and other funding opportunities for the balance of the costs.
