Explanation:

The City has been successful in expending $948,000.00 for Re-Housing, Eviction Prevention, Foreclosure and Utility assistance payments using Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF) from the State of Florida.

The City has requested an additional $2,500,000.00 in CRF funds from the State of Florida to assist City of Hollywood residents affected by the COVID-19 Health Emergency.

CRF may only pay administrative costs and eligible resident payments amassed from March 1, 2020 and December 30, 2020.

On August 26, 2020, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2020-194, approving an amendment to the One Year Action Plan for Fiscal Year 2019 - 2020 allocating CDBG-CV funding to Emergency Assistance.

CD staff wishes to use this allocation to provide Emergency Residential Services to fund the project delivery cost associated with check processing after the December 30, 2020 Coronavirus Relief Funding deadline and to continue to assist residents in identifying alternate funding sources that provide Re-Housing, Eviction Prevention, Foreclosure and Utility assistance.

Fiscal Impact:

The Department of Development Services/Community Development Division will manage an agreement with HOPE funded by CDBG-CV funds. There is a companion resolution (budget amendment) that will allocate funding for this agreement in account number 111.160101.55400.583212.001217.000.000.
