Explanation:
In the State of Florida’s 2026-2027 fiscal year budget process, the State of Florida, through the Department of Elder Affairs, appropriated funding in the amount of $250,000.00 to the City for Hollywood Adult Day Care Center at Oak Lake Community Center.
This funding is expected to be approved by the State to be awarded to the City on reoccurring annual bias, contingent upon the availability of such funds at the State level; and this funding is directed to the City through the State of Florida Department of Elder Affairs and administered through the Area Agency on Aging of Broward County (“AAA”).
The grant funds will be utilized to continue to contract services to conduct adult daycare program services for persons diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia at Oak Lake Community Center.
The City will provide a matching fund commitment in the form of donation of building space valued in the amount of $189,150.00 for the use of Oak Lake Community Center and for the City to begin utilizing the State’s appropriated grant funds for the second half of Fiscal Year 2026 and first half of Fiscal Year 2027, and it is necessary for the City and AAA to enter into certain agreements to establish their mutual programming goals, standards and other criteria established by the State.
