Explanation:

The FDOT Bridge inspection report dated February 10, 2021, for the Johnson Street Bridge over the C-10 canal, located between North 30th Road and North 31st Avenue (by Bravo) determined the bridge was functionally obsolete.

On February 21, 2023, the Department of Development Services, Engineering, Transportation and Mobility Division issued an Authorization to Proceed (ATP-01) in the amount of $33,899.30 to the Corradino Group, Inc., (CG) to conduct a feasibility study and develop a conceptual design to widen the Johnson Street Bridge and address the obsolete functionality.

The results of the feasibility study indicated that due the limited design life of the existing structures, a complete replacement of the bridge was necessary in order to widen the bridge.

The Department of Development Services, Engineering, Transportation and Mobility Division staff negotiated a proposal with CG for professional roadway and bridge design services to complete the final engineering design, permitting, and construction specifications to replace and widen the Johnson Street bridge in an amount not to exceed $589,008.78.

Fiscal Impact:

Funding for this phase of the project was included in the amended FY 2024 Capital Improvement Plan and is available in account number 334.149901.54100.563010.001687.000.000.
